top ten of techno dj legend dave clarke and ben sims !! michael walgram, born and still living in steyr, started his dj career at the age of nineteen. that time he was deejaying at small private parties, heating up the vibes with commercial beats. the artist mike turrento was born. however, he soon started to alter his style and went from commercial music to fine, chilly, yet pumping and pounding tribal techno. he is especially known for enriching his sounds with numerous sound effects using different equipment. the hype of minimal techno did not alter his individual style, yet he tried to combine minimal and classic techno with breakbeats. through adding skillbreaks, speedbreaks, scratches and spins he managed to find the perfect mixture and created outstanding classic breakbeat techno sets.

afu limited welcomes alex long to it s artist catalogue and he starts with two slammin and cool technotracks with ultra trippy vocals! there is not much need to say anything about these tracks, just listen and enjoy the trip through the space age with a fast beating heart! since he was young, he has always been impressed by the sounds of the synths, electro pop and later on acid house. in the beginning of the 90ies, when the slovenian electronic scene was still in the making, he was a regular guest in the legendary k4 and palma in slovenia. he was taken further into the world in 1998 when he took his first steps behind the turntables and he has been producing music since 2004. since then, he has had quite a few releases and remixes for different record labels. he has dj gigs with huge names of the electronic scene and in large festivals in slovenia and became the official slovenian hero of the future in 2007 at the disconautica festival.he spends much of his time in his studio, where his thoughts are converted into notes and melodies, and as he often states, he finally found a style that suits him and always finds a challenge in. what is that style? he doesn t like to be defined by a specific music style, as he prefers and is influenced by many different genres of electronic music. alex long is definitely a name we will hear of in the future!

the arctic monkeys much anticipated third effort was co produced by queens of the stone age frontman josh homme and james ford. humbug is a voyage somewhere new - its a richer, darker and more powerul sound. its heavy yet melodic mixing offhand self analysis with verbal assaults. turners charismatic vocals remain centre stage with that sweetening flutter of vibrato. the songs remain stories - fabulously wrought and told, set to thrilling and adventurous music. its a more grown up album of irony, guile, riffs and tunes, yet it still very much the arctic monkeys.

fer br is the man! with releases on special series, relatives, innervate and soul access he set the standard and he still keeps moving on and on. with this ep he shows us his skills once again of how to fill a dancefloor. incredibly funky with a fierce drive and wicked drums. the great samplework and synth sound to it all of and we are ready for action! go go go!

an excellent comilation if the fine future times label that has 4 tracks by beautiful swimmers, sensual beings, max d and protct u... as fairly unknown producers doing some shit hot disco funk and pure house tracks that would have been regulars in larry levans box, if he still would have been around. not sure where all these guys all of a sudden come from... but some seriously good music here!

after a little silence from rotterdams sound architecture label they are on a roll again! after releasing music by joris voorn, shawn rudiman, rejected (when they were still rather unknown) they bring up some new talented producers! the sound architecture guys are hosting some of the best techno events in the netherlands.. and meet a lot of young producers.. and here is another example that with good a&r even young bedroom producers can release some hot club tracks! file this under the hottest new school house tracks on the market!

the success of narkotik recordz has prompted label owner dj narkotik to setup his sublabel to release some of the incredible tracks artists have been sending to him that were not quite right for the speed and intensity on the main label. bringing the tempo down but still maintaining its hard edge sound. with tracks from raw & uncut, paranoizer & earfist its gonna be a quick seller for sure!

steve angello returns to his own size records, only this time accompanied by his brother, an21. flonko is a massive, klezmer style track that has been bubbling under for some time and is now here! essential new tune on pete tongs essential selection already, the sound of a gypsy summer is here. still staying true to steves recent tech sound, the underbelly of this track is tough and dark lifted but the klezmer melody. an absolute essential summer track!
